This was on my car a couple of years ago. I ended up cracking the paint and decided to buy a carbon fibre one instead. The splitter can be rubbed down and repainted. It has been stored ever since and has slightly distorted, which means it doesn't lay flat. However I don't think this will provide a problem as once put on the car it will be held straight.
