just having the polo serviced, having its timing belt changed as its at 66k and i have no idea if the previous owners had any work done to the car.
just wanted to know what everybody thinks on gates timing belts, are they as good quality as the vw own belt? will they last just as long?

+1 for the quality of Gates' belts - have used them on previous family owned PUGs without problem.
As an aside,I hope you are buying a whole kit - replacing belt and tensioners and not jsut the belt
...have you thought about changing the water pump too?

That a relief wasn’t sure on the quality of the belts.
Yep I am changing everything it’s a full service.

air filter
oil filter
fuel filter
cabin filter
front disks and pads
And all for only £80 which isn’t bad and yes they are good mechanics which I’ve used before.
