Dead remote key

My remote key finally died today.... a new battery doesnt seem to help... the little LED light on the key doesnt flash when you press the buttons.....


I think it needs replacing..

Anyone know where the cheapest source of a Key would be? I only need the button part... I can re-use the old blade... anyone have a spare remote knocking about?


This leaves me with somewhat of a problem.... I cant de-activate the alarm without the remote..... anyone have any cunning ideas to make it silence so I can drive the car? :p

Ebay mate I myself need a new fob too, so need to order it up

There is a way to disable the car once you have got in, but I think youll have to read the manual for the motor to tell you that

I got a spare fob.... but the screen on my laptop has now died.... GRRR!!!!! Cant code the new key in

You dont need your laptop to do it you can do it just in the car

Where did you get the fob from in the end dunc?

Someone on here was breaking a GTi...

The only method I know that doesnt need a laptop requires you to have 2 working keys...

One in the ignition with the engine running.... and the other to lock the door from the outside....

I only have 1 blade


Is there another way?
