Hi all,
I have a feeling that the cat in my polo is dead... I was wondering.. if I have a decat done, is this definately going to fail the MOT?

Yes. Simply put it will fail an MOT as its newer than the period when cats were not required.

In that case, can anyone tell me where I can get a cheap cat for a 55bhp 1.2E ? or give me an idea on how much of a pain they are to install?

look on ebay and partsgateway or ring up a local scrappers because they might be in good condition! a LOT cheaper than brand new, the garage get new parts ordered in rather than used parts
