Chaps have a 2001 polo gti after owning it for a week the passenger side headlight washer cover popped off only noticed when i was at work and saw the hole found the cover mashed up on the road near my house on way home,i dont know if it hadnt been used for a while and stck to the bumper so that when i blasted the windscreen it kicked in and forced it off?Only £6 from vw dealer for new one but the service guy said on the phone the washer would pull up through the hole with minimal force to replace the new cover tried this and it doesnt seem to wanna budge?I am in 2 minds to either a,take it to vw and get them to fit it along with a side lamp bulb that has gone that i have been told is a bumper off job?? or b,disconnecting the washers themselves and just supergluing each corner of the cover back on so at least it looks finished off once more? Any thoughts or help would be great,
Also my rev counter is reading too low and after some advice on here realised when the engine is off the rev counter needle is slightly lower down towards the fuel gauge thus giving an inaccurate reading when in motion so i was advised to take out the dash clocks and re adjust the needle back does anyone have any idea how i can do this and what to be aware off? or is it a massive ball ache and should i just leave it be as it doesnt effect the car at all and can personally live with it but its nice to have everything working properly as apart from these little things the car is a minter and goes really well cheers for your help.

Re: 2001 polo gti headlamp washer probs
As for the washer matey id either give it another go being cautious not to damage anything or failing that take it to VW to be done.If they break it they fix it which can be handy.Don't glue the cap onto the bumper though you'll only regret it when the same problem happens again.
You don't have to remove the bumper to replace the sidelight bulbs, what side is it and i could possibly talk you through it or this guide may be of some help to you.

I havent had to play around with my clocks too much so can't really help you there, may be worth mentioning it when or if you take the car to VW for the washer plate.See if they can give you a quote for the work to be done.
