What Gearbox Oil

Done some research and the GTI boxes take 75w90 Oil.

VW stuff has been recommended, any idea what the make of the VW stuff is? Also, is there an eqivalent i can buy which is just as good or better? (can't to to VW till next week but can get to local motor factors).

Also, am I right in saying it takes 2.7 litres?

2.7 sounds about right. when i got some for my car from VW the chappy on the phone said i would need 3ltrs.
and by memory i did have a little left over in the last bottle. so yeah sounds about right

go with VW stuff go on! you know you want to! its nice and cheap (well cheaper then halfrauds) and its vw! cant get better then that lol...even if u do have to a wait a week lol

Yeah, I always go with VW stuff normally, It just needs to be done asap! I think I'll manage a week tho

Picking some up tomorrow from VW.

The gearbox oil was changed about 14 months ago, but for the sake of 30mins work and £30 it's worth doing to save a £600 rebuild

deffinatly! and it does make a difference! i remember driving mine after and it felt so much better
