I'm looking at getting these off eBay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-genuine-17-ALL ... 103wt_1138
First of all, would these fit on a 2005 9N and what sort of tire would be suitable, looking for something quite low profile
Cheers, Mike

If I just put those on and then lowered by say 30-35mm, would you have any rubbing?

Worth remembering that you'll need some adaptors to fit those to the 9N. The Jetta has PCD 5X112 (I think) whereas the Polo has PCD 5X100. You may also have problems with the offset etc of the wheels.foodie90 wrote:First of all, would these fit on a 2005 9N
Also, you need to keep the rolling radius of the wheel as close to the original as possible so that the speedometer remains accurate. There are various tyre size calculators on the internet which may help you out, run a search on Google for them.

Re: Tyre size for 17'' alloys
They would rub like hell on those tyres, you need 205x40x17
235x45 is a HUGE tyre compared to that.

Won the auction yesterday on the above GTi alloys. They've got 215/40/17 tyres on so they should be fine....I hope :/
