HID question

Post by aleung2 »

Hi, not been on here a while since selling my 9n. However since I told it to my now fiancé I'm back on as she is looking to fit HIDs for the winter. I've searched all over the forum and can't really find the answer to my query.

I know that HIDS4U recommend their ultimate kit as it is post 2002 however no other places recommend them and I can get kits off ebay for about £40 with H7R bulbs.

Does anyone know for a fact if I can use any H7R kit or do our cars (2003 9n) have the issue with the warning light etc?

Look forward to the replies, thanks.

Is there a guide somwhere as to where to fit ballasts on the 9N. I've just bought a 1.2

I've had an Ebay special H7 6000k kit from Sinomedia for the last 18 months on the Sharan. Just taken off for the MOT to avoid hassle...although it passed last year. You forget how bright they are when you go back to standard bulbs...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I take it the kits from ebay will do fine then. I bought a kit from a British retailer, convert2xenon.com for my current car, EP3 Civic Type R (wanted a Mk5 GTi but they were much more expensive at the time but I'm not complaining). The kit was £120 and I'm certain they are the same stuff as the ones from ebay but re-packaged. The bulbs however are the same ones from ebay as the casing is identical and they're less than £10 delivered from ebay. I got a set of replacement bulbs as my 6000k were starting to turn 4300k. Therefore I am of the impression that the kits you buy over here are a rip off.

Finally, I take it it is the H7Rs I need for the standard lenses?#

Cheers guys.

I believe the H7R's are what you want. That's what Im getting for mine.
Having to drive past cars without the right bulbs is a pain
