160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
hey all looking to take my pd100 to the max on the little turbo it has
my car made 146 bhp 240 on the rollers
i spoke to p-torque today and i put the question to will if a decat and front mount and custom map would take it to 160 and he is ademant that it may just do that anyone else gone to 160 or similar figures on a pd 100?

Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
160bhp on a pd100 will be exceeding its limits?!?!?
As previously said by a member on here, pd130 turbo + standard pd injectors would see your car hitting 160.

Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
hmmmm tricky as a few people say the turbo will do 160 and so will the injectors... i dont really fancy swapping the turbos? does it require custom fabrication or straight swap if i use the 130 hoses n s**t for better flow etc...
Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
mate the pd100 turbos are s**t. ive blown 3 already on a high powered remap they wouldnt last even if you mapped it at 160
Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
didnt see the last part of your question, you just bolt the turbo straight on and use the pd130 pipes. no messing about really. i can keep up to a 20vt seat ibiza. which is the same as a polo gti 150, n thats without a custom map.
Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
dammit i really cba to be bolting on bigger turbos n shizzz hmmmmm
Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
bolting on a standard turbo is straight forward and easy, aslong as you can find a reasonably priced mechanic a 2nd hand turbo would set you back 250. 150 labour and bobs your uncle. thats what i did anyway
just needs a map now, but i mite leave it n sell the car.
Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
I only just got rid of mine £200
Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
It all depends how far you want to go and how reliable you want it. My pd100 turbo blew within a few months of owning the car so i replaced it with a pd150 turbo and injectors. That with a suitable map it should be about 170-180bhp.
I'd rather fit a turbo than mess around with an intercooler that wont fit right and needs hours of work to sit properly.

Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
wow your probably one many to do this? any isuues with reliability?
Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
So far so good. I'd like to get it rolling roaded sometime in the future to see exactly how its running and to put a rough figure on the power it should have.
Its like most things though, how far do you want to take it and how much money do you want to spend.

Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
my reason for not going for 180bhp is because i dont want to have upgrade the brakes seems like a big job and an expensive one considering id get a 312 front and octavia rear brakes 200mm or something ?
i need to buy some ap coilovers or weitec next then probably spend anther 1000 but i dont want to put all my money into this car
where are you based? have you changed your brakes?

Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
Brakes are still standard, so is the suspension aswell.
I dont want to go with coilovers as i found them to harsh on my previous car and dont want the hassle of going too low. Once my new wheels are refurbed i'll be getting a set of eibach springs just to settle it down a bit. The new wheels can accomodate 312mm tt/s3/vrs brakes just means picking up a set of fabia vrs or cupra hubs.

Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
how does the car cope with standard brakes? and how much did it cos you to convert the car? i wont be buying a new turbo and injectors they will be used.
Re: 160 bhp 1.9 tdi :)
Turbo £400
Injectors £200
Mapping £300
The brakes cope as the always did, not the best lol. I had 4pot brembos on my ibiza so these are abit of a step down.
