Hi Guys,
Im collecting my gt tdi on sunday and the guy told me that the chip for the remap can be taken in and out....So turning it back to standard or remapped! I thought a remap wouldnt be that easy to change?? Am I being special or is that standard? Also it seems the water pump wasnt changed with the cambelt, is that ok?? Its done 79k. Anything else I should be looking out for, its got tax, mot, fsh?
Kind Regards
Will
remap chip
Re: remap chip
When I got mine mapped there was no seperate chip. What there is tho are three mapping slots on the ecu on which you can get different maps on and can switch between them if you get them programed. Most of the time you need crisis control for this switch

Re: remap chip
Is it a proper remap or a tuning box? A tuning box can be easily removed.
Re: remap chip
Hi guys,
Thankyou for the responses. Well the tuning was performed by Star Performance In Fife. After undertaking a little research I understand they are a renowned company??? Is there Anything else I should be looking out for in the car?
Kind Regards

Re: remap chip
I would check the clutch. Put the handbrake on and try and pull off in 3rd gear. If it stalls straight away then the clutch is OK. If it slips then that could be another £500 on the bill.
