Re: tyre brands...
everyone likes/hates different tyres, if youre after a reasonable budget nankang ns2's are about 40 quid a tyre fitted for that size at a local tyre place i use,
im running kuhmos on the front of my passat and they arent too bad, vredestein are meant to be prety good alythough some of theirs are in the premium range so pricey,
then of course theres all the top brands which are pricey too,
but they are what keep you on the road at the end of the day so have a think about your driving style

Vredstein are pretty good. I hate Nankangs with a passion though. I like to call them ditch hunters...As long as you don't use them on the front you can get away with them.

Me bro got michilen pilot sports. Excuse spelling they are super gd
Re: tyre brands...
iv currently got parada spec 2's i will definately not be buying them again
and for Nankangs my mom had a set on her car when we bought it never again either deathly tyres should never be allowed again
im thinking of michelin, bridgestone or avon maybe?
but i want a long lasting tyre as paradas havent even lasted 7,000 miles real s**t tyre.

Re: tyre brands...
Maybe one thing to consider if replacing tyres in winter, quite a lot of desirable tyres are designed and sold as summer tyres - so don't be amazed if they cause you to visit a ditch or kerb when driving in snow or ice. I speak from experience of deliberatly choosing Michelin Pilot Exalto for my wifes Polo - they are very very good summer tyres (and are designed and sold as such), but are completely unsuitable for colder weather - that was why I needed to get her some steelies and winter (Michelin Alpin) tyres a year ago.Dub_Dan wrote:hi all happy new year

Re: tyre brands...
for that size, I warned you about the Parada's! Best I've had on the Polo were Uniroyal rainsports and BF Goodrich profiler sports were very good too.
If you want to spend a bit less, then Toyos are a good bet but will wear out quickly. Bridgestone and Michelin are very good makes and are a good starting point.

lol david they came with the wheels and knew they would wear quick, i had avon zv3 before they werent too bad but like i say i want a tyre thats going to last 15,000- 20,000 im not interested in throwing it through the corners and expecting parada grip
Re: tyre brands...
On my old wheels (14" 7 spoke standard alloys ) ran on Maloya's. Theyre a budget brand from Vreidstein and I've found them to be REALLY good. Excellent grip cornering at speed in the dry and the wet, and whilst tread looks quite deep it doesn't give that much roar when travelling on the road. Highly recommended. Technically a winter tyre I think but I run them all year round....
