Im fighting to get my car sorted and the last problem i need to mend is the windows. They go up really slowly and reach a certain point before automatically going back down 2/3's and stopping.
What is the root cause?

I replaced whole window mech and motor fix pack (forgot that bit now), wasnt as hard as it might seem. Frame was £60 or so, also used that motor fixing pack. Got from vagparts but thats shut down now. It is a bit tricky to do, as you have to take out window but its all possible.

Get the door cards off : Check to see if one of the lower window holders ( the bit which holds the window) has popped off the regulator mechanism... can be reattached using a cable tie skillfully.
