My gearstick has started to develop brewers droop..
Does anyone know the parts required to fix this please? I'm assuming bushes of some sort? I've done a search and can't find anything.

Re: Floppy Gearstick
Have you sorted this out yet?
We have an old mk2 golf GTI it's been sat in a field since summer
Went to start it up at the begining of the week and 1st and reverse has disappeared and 2nd is only just about there
And the gear stick just flops around everywhere
U think you've put it in say, neutral as u can wiggle it side to side, but take our foot off the clutch, and damn! It stalled, so it must have been in gear.

Re: Floppy Gearstick
The old mk2s are a rod shift I think...though I may be wrong, but I though they didnt change to cable shift till the mk3. If its rod shift, its an easy fix
Re: Floppy Gearstick
Apparently it's gear linkages on the golf? Could it be the same on the polo? or are the gearboxes too different?
I know there's differences in gear boxes, but just how different goes strrrrraight over my head lol.... Don't even get me started on confusion over DSG flappy paddles and all that lol

Re: Floppy Gearstick
All gearboxes have a linkage - thats what joins the rod or cables to the gearbox and is adjusted right to get each gear to engage properly.
Lol DSG flappy paddles are fun love mine!
