L.E.D sidelights?

Post by JamieG172 »

Whats the verdict on LED sidelights? I understand that for a bulb to be E-Marked it has to be compliant with the law which at the moment only covers filament bulbs, so technically illegal to run LED sidelights, however in order to pass MOT they must just emit a white light forwards, which they do. So what are the odds of ever getting stopped for having LEDs?

Cheers,
Jamie

I stand a better chance of dating Scarlett Johansonn than being stopped for LED sidelights...

Hahaha, Ash which LEDs are you running/do you have a pic? Thinking of running them with the M-TEC H7 cosmos blue bulbs you recommened. Again, if this is what you're running get a pic up if you get a chance please :)

Cheers Ricky, will check them out.

I bought some LEDs of someone on here, but haven't installed them yet so can't comment on them. Thanks to my TDI engine and a cramped bay, it looks like a bumper-off job to replace bulbs...and I have girly hands :? (seriously, my hands are tiny).

I'll get some pics up eventually. Was going to get a pair of those MTEC bulbs too and install them all at the same time.
