How do you remove the petrol filler cap cover??

I've been wanting to do that forever. They look so much better flush! Plus my old car had a little lever near the handbrake to pop it open. I've missed that with my polo.
Are you putting in a button to pop it open? I've seenIOU tiers from someone who did it but it all went right over my head when it came to the wiring.I was wondering if it's possible to do it like on some cars where you push the flap in and it pops open. But I don't know how much modding that will take

Youd need to retrofit a mechanism similar to the Golf Mk5s - dooable with some work

Be to much work I reckon when a finger will open it dude....

Although when you lock the car the pin in the cap locks down so maybe a wedge can be made to pop open the cap???

Might go along that line because you lock the car when you fill up so it should work.....
