Gear Knob Removal ???

I need to get my gear knob off and i cant remember for the life of me remember how it comes off.

If there was a metal tag on it, then i have already cut that off, i removed it before to fit the short shift and the knob just screwed onto the short shift.

I cant turn the knob on the original shift stick, does it just pull off or is there a special way ?

Should just pull straight off (and pushed straight down onto)
Unclip the gear gaitor and then just pull the knob up and off the stick.
My boyfriend and his mate have a thing about dismantling my cars as I'm driving. And removing the knob and gaitor is one of their favourites.
Do you still have the metal clip? As that tightens the plastic of the knob (Might be a bit to loose without it)

No i cut the clip off completely last time it was off, thats why i cant understand why the knob is so tight on the car, i did pull quite hard on it the other day, but not hard enough i think.

Will give it a quick tug later.
