VAG-COM Codes for everyone?

Today I have learnt that the key to success of the VAG-COM system is to get hold of a copy of the official repair manual. Well actually that isn't right because I have it.

The actual key is to get hold of the manual that VW dealers have that lists all the fault codes etc with reference to their version of VAG-COM AKA Siemens VAS 5052. The harware is available to the general public, Â£4600+/- therefore the manual has got to be too.

What we need is a realy nice person who works for VW to order a "lost" copy from their supplier and share the info wiht us, then we can ALL have this information at our fingertips.

If what a dealer told me is right, then changes to the law mean that this information has to be made public anyway or at least cannot be kept secret.

Anyone know of anyone that may be able to help?

The workshop manuals do not have everything you need, You can bet any amount you like that theonly way you will get hold of the ENTIRE list of what you can do and how to do it by getting a job in the relevant department at Wolfsburg.
