GT 130 fuel consumption
GT 130 fuel consumption
Hi all have a problem with my polo gt, it started off with the engine managment light coming on a few weeks ago and was found to be the EGR valve. just before the valve was replaced the car lost bottom end power and sounded a bit flat . had the valve replaced and the problem is still there so back to the garage plugged into the vagcom and the only fault it is showing is low altenator output. also the car is doing about 10 miles to the gallon less, any ideas ??.
Re: GT 130 fuel consumption
Was the inlet manifold cleaned too. That don't help if it's clog up.
Alternator on it's way out maybe??

Re: GT 130 fuel consumption
yes every thing was cleaned out, the car has only covered 50,000 miles.
Re: GT 130 faulty clutch switch
Finally sorted my fuel problem out after trying a number of VW garages and a VW specialist, the car was not responsive when you blipped the throttle and when you booted it the revs would continue to rise when you let off the throttle only for a split second, i have had the car at most of the VW garages in my local area and also travelled to Kirkcaldy Scotland to a VW specialist and they all said the car was fine. Anyways while i was researching for some info on the T5 forum i came a cross a post regarding someone with the same problem on there 1.9 T5 and it turns out that a faulty clutch switch was the problem which has something to do with the turbo actuator. Purchased a clutch switch yesterday £14.08 from TPS fitted it problem solved.
A faulty clutch switch does not show up on vag com. hope this might help someone else with simular symptoms.
