Whats this fuse for

Had a problem with my 6n2 Gti and while looking at the fuses the yellow 20 amp fuse was burnt out and half of it was melted, I've replaced the fuse but have no owners manual so not sure what the fuse is for? Anybody have any idea? Cheers
