Hard to get the steering wheel out and replaced? What would i need if i wanted to swap two, drill bits and screw driver?

ive been thinking out getting my steering tightened, any chance i could do that myself as well.
im really trying to be tight with my money but its really helping me learn lol.

a steering wheel swap is straigt forward enough just make sure you disconnnect the battery so you dont set off the airbag and also fetch a light up on the dash whilst the airbag is unplugged or you'll need vagcom to reset it,
as for tightening the steering i dont quite get what you mean. if you mean to make it more responsive i dont really know how that would be possible, you could improve the feel with a smaller steering wheel i suppose but that would be about it

yeah just its like a lil wavy.
im pretty sure theres a way to make it more responsive like fiddling something with a screw i pressume, i just have to ask around i guess

Make sure theres no play in any of the steering/suspension components, if everythings ok then it can only be made to feel better with lower and stiffer suspension. There isnt anything you can tweak with all standard kit on.
My passat was like a barge handling wise as standard but with coilovers on it improved the feel massively.... dont get me wrong its no cornering machine but its much better.

As above, check for wear in the system. Also, check the tracking.

I find the steering on the 9n a bit disconcerting... Not that it's overly light, but it seems to "pitch" the car into corners with minimal effort. It's just how they are though. Lowering may help, but I've never driven a lowered 9n, so can't pass any useful comment.

seems that coilovers are getting bumped higher up the shopping list, which is the best to get fitted, in u guy's opinion.
