Basically the key is totally unresponsive when trying to use the remote locking. Its been like this since the day i bought the car.
Everything else is fine (i.e using the key manually to open all doors and using the ignition)
Changed the wee battery but nothing works, even the bulb doesnt light up when pressing the button..

I've taken some pictures of the inside of the mechanism incase anyone has any ideas on what the problem might be and how i can fix it.

Heres basically all the parts that came out of it -

Image

this one with everything out of it (the part in at the left hand side which looks like a glass sensor or something appears to be smashed?) i cant remove it and i dont know what that part is -

Took this one as well with the spring in place (minus the battery and bulb) incase something is missing that someone could point out?

You haven't got remote locking mate. The remote keys are of the 'flip' type where the key blade folds into the fob. They also have three buttons.

The light on yours is so that you can see the keyhole in the door when its dark.

Errr, that's not a "remote" key. If your car had remote central locking, you'd have a flip key with three buttons.

And don't mess with that glass capsule, esp if it appears to be broken - that's the transponder for the immobiliser.

Ash :)

Edit: David beat me to it.

fs bit weird putting the batterys and things in it just for a glorified 'keytorch'
well the torch isnt working anyway, so you think it could possibly be the bulb thats away?

im determined to get this fixed regardless of what it does cause its been bugging me haha!

think i should get that transponder for the immobiliser seen too if its smashed up? :/

Aye i was thinking that actually.. my past experiences with remote locks usually have a circuit board or something inside them, hence why i was posting the pictures incase it might have been missing due to the previous owner.

Im pretty clueless when it comes to this sorta thing, first car and all..
thanks for the help tho guys, much appreciated! :)
