body repair caused more dammage

Post by gilmore »

I have just picked up my GTi from the VW bodyshop... went in to have severe dent to drivers side rear panel sorted... thankfully all fixed and looking shiny and new now, but I have noticed lots of random scratches to drivers side front window, a couple on rear window and even a couple of minor ones on other side too! also some small scratches on roof!

any one had any experience with this sort of thing. Am taking car back on sat for them to look at, but whether the sanding/blasting equipment in the workshop may somehow have caused this accidently or if they didn't valet it properly (ie clean clothes, had grit on them maybe)?

Highly annoyed...

Steve.

it anoys my so much we you want something done properly and it comes back like you would have never expected. you would have thought better from vw bodyshop as the are very expensive and usualy take high precautions.
sorry to hear about this mate. you must kick up a big fuss with them and evn say the word trading standerds if you have to!

glass paper

I think you'll find the oik that repaired your car has been leaning on it at various times with glass paper or wet and dry in his hands. This stuff will scratch instantly.

went in to see them this morning, guy took a look at drivers side front window which is covered in random scratches in all directions and said they would replace it. so that's happening next week.
