Dear All
As the title says my polo (9N3 '55 Plate 1.4) is starting to play up,I've searched for the problem (25 pages of central locking problems) and most appear to be the pump in the boot, the Haynes book is as good as a chocolate fireguard,I don't even know if it is pneumatic or electric operation....The problem is intermittent and is that the passenger door sometimes doesn't lock or unlock from the remote or central lock button,I have to get out and use the key, this leads me to think of a mechanical problem that maybe a squirt of WD40 will do the trick...
What advice do you have?/
Thanks
John

Re: 9N3 intermittent passenger door central locking
Well has been three days since the problem reared its ugly head, still don't know if it's electric or pneumatic operation but a squirt of WD40 in each of the three available holes seems to have cured the problem...

They sound decidedly electric on the 9n... My b4 passat's got the pneumatic setup, you hear the pump run (sounds a bit like a cow in the distance), then the doors lock in a "leisurely" way...
