I am new here, Hello hello!!

I was just wondering about my 1.2 Polo 9n e 55 if it has heated wing mirror, There is a little sign on the little switch that moves the wing mirrors however i dont know how to turn it on

Put it to the central position between L&R on the adjuster switch I think?

It normally is on the center position, however when i touch the mirrors they do not feel warm or hot?

Try to remember to switch them off as soon as the mirrors have cleared as the heaters will burn out if left on especially in warmer weather.

Pretty sure they only heat up when you turn the rear screen heater on an then its onl for a few minutes

Personaly, I'd prove that point before thinking that its fact, I have a very late 2000MY Passat B5 and only found out how VW controlled these heater on a VW forum, unfortunately too late for my heaters so I had to buy new mirror glasses. Wife has a 2003MY Polo and I've always made a point of advising her to do as I do with the Passat. I think that the actual facts are missing from the operator's manual. These mirror heaters are very handy in cold wintery weather as I tend to drive to work through "colder" and "warmer" areas so the mirrors fog up frequently. One thing to bear in mind, if you think that you can check the heaters for good/bad using a DMM, then remember that a very low resistance = "good" conversaly, a very high resistance = "bad". Actual tapes burn out but the high measured resistance is just the backing material which has carbonised quite a bit.

BTW, your statement is correct as far as VX is/was concerned - and that way of controlling them makes sense, which will be the very reason why I burned my Passat ones out!

From the handbook, seems I remembered it half right when I saw it in the past.
