Info? - Solenoid setup for a smoothed boot!

Struggling to find info on this so im hoping some one here has done it and can share there knowledge

Basically im buying a smoothed 9n tailgate. and will need to fit a solenoid to open the latch to get in the car once done.
So I will be basically fitting a standard solenoid kit linked to the battery on a simple circuit with a button located where i feel

Some kits have relays so you can connect central locking.

Have a few questions so:

Now, i would really like it to be swish by having it either on my fob or on small extra fob:

1. Can I hook it up to my original VW fob and central locking?
Some people on mk5/4 golfs have smoohed theirs and coded he vagcom so that when they press there 3fob the boot releases

2. I am confused with the fact my boot button on fob unlocks the boot but then i have to use the handle...would the first lock sysetm have to remain connected?
Would just having a solenoid by itself work? or do i have to have that first intial part?

So long as you wire up the solenoid properly the existing button on your key should work surely as it'll tell the car to open the boot, not the boot mechanism?

Ive just been told that it may no be possible to hook it up to my vw key fob though if you watch ECS mV hatch pop on youtube they just code it?

Surely whatever you wire up to the cable ill get activated by the popper button whether its a solenoid or a television

I looked quickly into doing this a while ago and then sidelined it... can't really remember why but just had another look after reading your thread.

It's easy on the Mk5 Golfs because it's a simple coding change to get the boot to 'pop' open instead of just releasing the mechanism. This isn't actually possible/available on the Polo. It's odd because pulling the handle actually activates a microswitch which then in turn activates a solenoid to release the latch - pressing the button on the remote just allows power to this circuit so the boot can be opened. Similarly, if you run some of the diagnostics in vagcom then the boot latch is released, so there is a way to activate that solenoid without the mircoswitch. There's a bloke on polo9n.info whose 9N3 actually does this, but he seems to be in a minority and apparently has no idea why it does it at all... It seems from a brief read of some German forums that you most likely need VDS-Pro to change it, which is a massive ballache.

I was hoping to do the full boot pop mod, with Scirocco springs and Fabia struts, but there isn't much point doing it without the correct coding as I'll probably pull the handle and knock myself out as the boot lid swings into my face

As I see it, one possible (but not really ideal) option would be to have a solenoid acting via another remote to pull on the latch mechanism to pop the boot. You could then use the above Fabia struts etc to have it open completely?
