I have since started to do a few things to it but trying to keep OEM+ within reason. First I've fitted new headlight bulbs as the Osram Nightbreaker + ones I had before just didn't do it for me, so splashed out and got some Philips Diamond Vision bulbs for both the dipped and high beam. In my opinion these bulbs are much better with a more pure white light and that HID bluish tinge without the glare I often see with ebay kits. I also swapped out my sidelights for LED replacements and they look much better and match up with the dipped beam in colour. I also lamin-xed my fog lights yellow for that euro look, and quite impressed with the result.
I also recently got around to fitting a new head unit in the car, a single DIN LG unit with a 3 inch colour screen with the intent of using it for a reversing camera. The camera then followed a few days later, fitting where the numberplate bulb housing usually is. The wiring was fairly easy, splicing off the cigarette lighter socket for power and the positive power feed to the reverse bulb so that the head unit knows reverse is engaged. Yet again very impressed with the result.
This past weekend I also decided to paint my brake calipers blue as I have always liked the look of it on the Golf R32. Did 2 coats on each corner with an hour gap in between and left it to dry for 24 hours. I really like the colour that they have dried and in my opinion they look good against the silver paint work and my alloys.
Still a few things to come though.. First is lowering as the standard sport springs 15mm still looks too high and I want to get rid of that arch gap. I have a few things on order at the moment including legal stamped plates and a K&N induction kit so they will be on the car within the week.
Anyway here's a few pictures so far..
