buying new petrol filter

Has anyone bought a new petrol filter from VW, I'm just wondering as, I got one ordered in and asked them also to order in the end seal that goes between the filter and the fuel regulator. Well, the supplied filter, if it had been bought off ebay as a genuine VAG part, would have made me a bit grumpy as its badly/roughly manufactured and made in China - and does not have the usual VW SEAT Skoda Audi markings on it - just VW AG both options of filters part numbers and a company name - not very true "VAG" as I know it. Still VAG do sell and manufacture in China so we just have to accept that. Now if I had known all this, then I would have bought a proper filter from ECP or GSF - ie made by same company as VAG fit at factory. Oh, in case anyone gets one ordered in, they come complete with a set of seals - my "extra seals" are on back order so hopefully they will never arrive as it looks like I don't need them.

One other thing, both parts came in seperate resealable plastic bags - now that is overkill - but it was all packed in a proper VAG box!
