No Spark - spare ECU anyone?

Right technical hats on!

Playing around yesterday trying to fix my cruise control. Testing various wires and ecu plugs later the engine won't start. There is no spark and the vagcom errors relating to the immobiliser have been cleared...so no vagcom errors at all. Tried both keys but still nothing.

Ideas?

Start at the distributor cap and work from there. If nothing at all I'd say that it may just have gone by coincidence?

immobiliser fuse? I managed to pop mine the other day resulting in no spark at all and an engine that would just keep cranking. replaced the 5amp fuse and she started on the button.

What number is the immo fuse Matt?

That would be number 28 Joe (5 Amp)

hmmmm thats a bugger. I'll have a think Joe

Ok so the Gti is still dead. The only things left to try are a different ECU, the connectors in the DIS modle have been cleaned but still nothing. Still no error codes. argh!
