My name is Alistair, im 20 and this is my Polo thought it about time I started a thread...

First off these are my first two cars, my 1968 Beetle and Polo GTi...






I bought my polo back in May but didn't think i'd be modding it much as I am paying the loan off each month but it seems otherwise
I first started by getting a stage 1 Revo mapping and was bloody surprised at the results, It made 192bhp and 250 torques. This is my first car that I will be/have modified properly as well as the engine so I didn't know what to expect but the mapping made it come alive and I cant wait for stage 2!
I then got myself a Forge intercooler as I wanted to get rid of the rubbish standard one and get consisted boost. This put it up to 200bhp where it is now until further mods...






Since then I have done a few little mods:
Forge splitter dump valve.
Some bonnet gas struts.
Pipercross panel filter. (only temporary, I will get a cone in a box for stage two)
Blue Samco water pipes.
New South boost gauge.
And as of saturday some Porsche Twists from 9n3 Turbo They are amazing and I love them, think they really suit my white car.

So yeah, hopefully I will have it lowered in the next few months, sorry to disappoint but it wont be slammed as the back wheels stick out a bit and I think its too unpractical to go that low lol I want to take this to track days so want to set it up properly! and then after that it will be getting a Miltek exhaust and the cone filter ready for stage two!
And because of my age until im 21 I cant mod it any more than stage 2 so I want to focus on the interior and exterior

Beetle looking smart!! , Polo's also looking very nice, red wheels definatley suite the car!!
How did you get the gas bonnet lifters on there? I wanted them but had no idea where to start looking for the part or fixing them.

Cheers mate I LOVE that beetle, shame it had to go I would like to have it as a weekend car aha and yes, those red wheels looke ace
I bought the struts from VenomMotorsport and I just made two 'L' shape brackets that bolt onto the original bonnet screws and then attached the other end to my engine bay by using one existing hole and a new hole I had to drill. It isnt hard at all, give it a go, the struts were only like £20...

Okay so these photos should show you what I made and where they have been secured in place. I made a L shape bracket and a small spacer so the struts didnt hit on the side of the engine bay when it was closing (it is obvious when your doing it) they were bolted on by the original bonnet bolts as you can hopefully see yes?

And if you look in your engine bay, on the drivers side behind the head lights there is a small hole as shown in the photo below. I have bolted the bottom of the strut in here as well as using it to secure my ballast for my HID's. now there is not a hole like this on the other side of the engine bay so you will need to drill one yourself but that isnt hard

I like it dude! Wheels suit it well, needs to go lower asap though I'd of gone with red pipes in the bay to tie in with the wheels but that's your choice! As for the cone in a box, I wouldn't recommend it. I had it and when I had mine mapped, there was a 20bhp difference to having just a filter by itself to cone in the box. I'm on the look out for adjusting and fitting a head shield at the moment which is recommended by r-tech.

P.s. I'd go to r tech for stage 2, the power they get over revo and other big companies is awesome. Mines running stage 1.5 at 213bhp with 282 lbft

Yeah I know aha it will be lowered as soon as I can afford the coilovers, they are expensive ones...
Ah i seee... So what did r tech say about the intuction kit? I was going to go with them as well as I will need my SAI code deleting when I get rid of it. Also did you get anything else other than a remap like launch control or that stuff?

Just that it was crap dude, reduced air flow as it hardly any air getting through to it. It's all about flow! I got the launch control added as free. He does it now as long as you got a sports cat/Decat system. It's epic

Ah okay when I'm ready to get a map ill give him an email and see what induction kit he recommends:)
You got it free when you bought a sports cat from him? Or you already had one?
Also how does it work with a manual car lol? Is it good...?

No I had it already but he will put it on for free if you've got a sports cat or Decat! You simply put it in first gear, clutch down bring the revs up then drop the clutch and go!

Bloody hell I will be getting that!! Dont want to sound silly now but how come that doesnt stall the car? I assume it is probably mapping to feather the throttle or clutch to stop this happening...

When you bring the revs up, it hits the point in the rpm where it engages the launch control n once you dump the clutch, it releases it n minimises your wheel spin to a certain extent
