Wills 6N2 Gti

Post by WSMRT18 »

Hi all,

Had the polo for just over a year, just been sorting the little niggles here and there, nothing major but thought I would start a thread :)

Here she is...

Image

I suppose the main things which I have done is lowered her 30mm and fitted a K&N typhoon induction kit.

Have done quite a few little odd jobs here and there will add more shortly

Looks like a nice example Will, also like how you've kept it pretty OE which is how these cars look best.

Looks very nice & clean! What mileage is it on? How did you lower it the 30mm? Are you happy with the height and ride quality? I ideally would like some coilovers, but won't have the money for those for a long time. I seriously need to lower it though!

Cheers :)

Its got 105k on it now had 92k when I got it.

When I first had the car it had been lowered on 60mm front 40mm rear on uprated shocks/lowering springs which personally was too low for me scraped so often and speed bumps were a nightmare, passengers in the back wernt good either! I ended up getting some 30mm spax lowering springs to raise it up no problems now at all and looks good in my opinion. Rides quite firm but as I have never driven the car with the original suspension I cant really compare it.

I would of liked coilovers too but also on a bit of a budget!

Cheers mate :) Yeah there not bad by no means perfect but compared to some sets I have seen there quite good. The only thing I have done is replace the centre caps, one wheel had a really corroded lip so I split it and polished up the rim.

Not perfect but a lot better for time being :)

Nice example there, very interested in the subtle lows! Was thinking along similar lines myself, and yours looks very nice on the 30mm. Top work on the rims too!

One of the small things I've done is freshen up the brakes a bit, after 12 years they were showing there age a bit...

After a couple of coats had them looking like this...
