Head to head with a Focus RSssssss....

Post by poussou »

Well folks after a rather long period of problems following the installation of the Schrick cams (including a stupid mistake..) the car is starting to feel strong again.I'm now in the stage were a new program for the ECU with the cams will be installed (dunno when thow..).I also installed new tyres: Toyo's T1S Proxies...AND THEY ROCK!!!!!!Far better than the F1's

Anyway...to the point.Coming home yesterday i stopped at a traffic light.Next to me was a Ford Focus, only i couldn't see from behind. The only thing that gave it away were the big arches front and back.I looked at the guy who seemed uninterested at the begining, but when the light turned green, all he needed were a few fast spining starts, and he was in the game 8) 8) .To my surprise the little Polo didn't do that bad  .1st and second gear the cars were exactly next to each other!!!Then i made the mistake of pulling the 2nd above the rev. limit at which point the car STALLED  and awaaaay he went...Really fast too :? .Anyways, im not posting this to prove anything, nor do i think there is any comparison between the 2 cars. All im saying is...HE MUST HAVE GOTTEN A SCARE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS   .

Oh well, concerning the car now, i made mistake that had the exact oposite effect of what i was trying to do..(TIP: Never use a turbo FPR in a N/A car   ).It's the s**t'sss. But all that is another new post...

Cheers.

Hah i've hit the old rev-limiter b4, the car dies a quick death !!!

I managed to beat a Zetec-S, all air filtered up and exhaust etc yesterday as well as an Escort Turbo at high beach !!!!!

The escort driver was crying at the roundabout saying although mine was rapido his is a dog!. . .

Nothing more embarrassing than a 1.6 overtaking a 1.6 Turbo

mwah gotta love it

Hmmm,

What happens when you hit the limiter on a GTi?

Does it just slow down (like most cars do when they hit the limiter) or does something worse happen?

Unfortunately he car just DIES...It feels like u instantly pull your foot from the gas pedal and apply the breaks, all at hte same time.(You can forget about going into higher gear...)

I've never hit the limiter either. Tend to change up at about 5500-6000 rpm if I'm ragging her about (its not all that often with the cameras and stuff, plus I look after my baby, lol.). Peak power is about 3750 isn't it :?:

Does the peak Bhp not come in at about 6500 and then die off, thats the best point to change gear!

Not sure what you mean geez, i normally change into 3rd coming off a roundabout yes, but thats got nothing to do with me hitting rev limiter *scratches head*

i hit it in a straight line !!!

haha I use my car for what it is, a 'ragging mobil' :) s'what cars were made for.

Nohing worse than a 'Pussy-Willow' in his done up motor that NEVER takes it about 4000 rpm

*shakes head*

Yea maybe Prash, but they drive and pose like there all 'cool' blatantly posing out of their windows, and half of em cant drive for toffee.

I make you right though, no point in pointless ragging your motor, it must just be me, i can never resist a race.

I guess im just a typical Essex Geezah

Donesnt it annoy anyone else on here though ? the people with nice cars that you NEVER see do any kind of acceleration ?

i mean arnt they just buying the car JUST to look cool/good ?

Hence wouldnt that make them sad ?

Would love to know what other people think.
