What to look out for?

Post by polo_GT »

I am going to look at a g40 tomorrow and was wondering what things to look out for apart from the obvious. What sort of price would you pay for one with 91 thousand in good nick and the charger rebuilt 9000 miles ago. How long will the super charger last for it is a stage 2 done by jabba sport. Is the stage 2 the standard rebuild, will there much difference between 1,2,3 and 4. Thanks

Something to look out for, check the front chassis leg for signs of cracks. It hard to estimate prices but be suspicious if its very cheap.

General servicing history is very important, make sure good quality oil has been used and changed regulary. Stuff like cambelt intervals and fuel filters are important too.

The rebuild is a good sign I think the jabba stage 2 is standard, stage 4 slightly ported and the R1 ported a bit more. I would try and see the recipt for when it was done for proof.

If you get a G40 I would budget for a rebuild anyway, for peace of mind. I can highly recommend pitstop developments for charger rebuilds and any G40 tuning bits.
