Basically looking for some new shoes for the GTi.
I think the current setup is 17x7 on 215/40/17 et35
HOWEVER, im looking to fit 17x8.25 on 215/40/17 et25
AND with some H&R 20/40 lowering springs.
Question: Will they fit? if not... Solutions?

Im not sure about that....current setup is 7x17 et46....with 8x18 et 35 and H&R 20/40 they sit flush .....So 8.25x17 et 25 will stick out a little but being 17 dont know if they will rub. You wouldnt be looking into XXR´s by any chance?

yea they are the ones im after, i figured 8.25 with 215/40 wouldnt rub at the front standard height, its the extra 20mm that had me doubt, just dont want it to catch everytime i go over a small bumpLocoPolo70 wrote:Im not sure about that....current setup is 7x17 et46....with 8x18 et 35 and H&R 20/40 they sit flush .....So 8.25x17 et 25 will stick out a little but being 17 dont know if they will rub. im pretty sure the rears will be fine...
it might just be trial and error, i dont mind a little pit of poke but not too over the top.

I'm from Denmark so my english failed me a little there.
What I ment was that with that lowering the car gets roughtly the same height as a stock GTI. And from what I have seen there is plenty of room left over on the GTI aswell.

easy fit mate, ano it not a GTI but i got coils all the way down with helpers out and adaptors so it decked, as mush as i can without air and i can fit 185/70s on, very big wheel diameter and get no rubbing at all so DW mate
you can always get stretch iff needed
