Replacing my 6 cd player, need coding?

Post by panason1c »

Hi,
In my 2004 polo, 1.9 sports, tdi...........I have the original Gamma radio/cassette with the separate matching 6 cd player mounted below, the cd player is u/s and i can get another one on ebay that looks exactly the same but is taken from a 2003 Passat, will it work ok in my polo or does it need coding and are the button illumination lights blue in colour on all the units?, if not, can the colour be changed?
Cheers

No, it should look the same and work the same, its the radio that gets coded to suit which platform its fitted into and also to add CD player (single or 6CD) and/or DSP.
