NEWBIE broken something already :(

Post by Surfinmonkey17 »

Hi everyone today I was having a little fiddle under my bonnet and found my air intake pipe is broken, no big deal found the part to buy already. But then i decided to take my warm air collector plate off only to find the one and only bolt holding it on completely rusty so much so that i broke the head off it trying to unscrew it. Also noticed the same thing has happened to the other bolt that should of been there.

So is it possible to drill and tap where the bolts are or is it okay to leave the plate off completely as i have seen this in another 6n before and they just had an induction kit and nothing covering the manifold.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

Leave it off, you won't notice a difference. I removed this off my old 6N years ago, and it's off my current 6N2. Also, colder air = more power ;)

Won't cause any issues if you leave it off, i had the exact same thing happen on my old 6n, makes no difference really.
