Installing GT/G40 Arches.

Now Martyn reckons some riveting is required, with holes needing to be drilled into the car. Is this so, or are there ways around it, as I don't trust myself to drill holes in my car, and I don't have a riveter. Any ideas?

If I can't do any of the work myself, anywhere no of somewhere/someone that could do the riveting and drilling?

Thanks.

You don't need to drill any holes, and fitting is very easy.

Buy yourself a rivet gun, mine cost about £12 (which is probably less than a garage would charge to fit them) and the worst bit about fitting the arches is taking the wheels off to access the holes better, that's how easy it is.

Do it yourself! :D

Another quick question then: I take it that the bits that look like bolts are the rivets on the diagram, and those are the positions of the rivets? If not, where am I riveting?

Thanks.

karl i think the arches and skirts already have holes in them (not 100%) i will check on my car but im sure there are inset holes where the rivets go.
if so it will just be a case of matching the parts to the body to see where they go.

This is what I was worried about. But so far the majority of people are of the oppinion I provide the rivets, VW provide the holes.

the arches have the holes there already, but for the sills (the bottom bits) I'm pre... *goes and checks* yeah the middle bit will have to be stiuck on with glue (like the bits along the middle are already) and the ends have holes already to go into.
