Recent GTI purchase - a few oddities

Post by noncompusmentis »

Hi,

A quick hello... I'm new to the board. Long time VW owner, but only recently bought myself a 6n2 Polo GTI.

There are a few oddities with my car, so I thought that I'd like to ask the more educated if the oddities are 'normal' :?

First up... my GTI doesn't have the red seat belts. It is fitted with black seat belts without any red detailing.

Secondly... the GTI badge on the front grill has a white 'I'. The 'G' & 'T' are both silver. It doesn't look like the 'I' has faded. Also, the edge of the grill isn't red.

The car is a 2000 'W', 5 door, with Climatronic, cloth 'One' interior.

Are the above oddities normal?

Other than that, there are a couple of scrapes to deal with on the bumpers and the car needs a good scrub to remove all the moss and to make the paint shine. The wheels are going to need a refurb and it's desperate for a service!

Cheers
andy :)

All normal

There's three different colour variants of belts

The I often fades to white

The red trim isn't standard - people normally add this with a trim strip or trim tape

Great stuff!

I normally end up with cars that have been fitted with bits from other random models!
