Show you home lights?
Hi, I've jumped over from the 6N2 section as a friend of mine has just picked up his 6R GT.
He was wondering if there is a show you home/lights on with unlock function that I could activate with VAGCOM? My MK5 Golf does it but its got Auto lights/Wiper/Mirror dim. Is this something that anyone else has done or is it a retro fit kit?

It's called Coming Home and Leaving home. And yes it can be coded.6n2stan wrote:Hi, I've jumped over from the 6N2 section as a friend of mine has just picked up his 6R GT.

No. There was a retrofit for autolights. But Kufatec dosn't sell it anymore. Too many faults I suspect.daydotz wrote:Their was a retro fit for coming home light but I can't seem to find it from kufatec the polo doesn't have it as standard
CH/LH lights can be coded.

Ace, cheers guys, where is it in VAGCOM? Is it a case of adding a 1 or a 2 to a code?

Show you home lights?
Coming home lights work when you have taken the key out of the ignition and pull the main beam to flash once. Obviously once is coded of course. They turn off 15 secs after u lock the car

Re: Show you home lights?
You can set the time for how long they stay on with VCDS. I have mine set to 25 seconds for both coming and leaving home.Wilxay wrote:Coming home lights work when you have taken the key out of the ignition and pull the main beam to flash once. It's an option when coding the lights.Wilxay wrote:How?

Re: Show you home lights?
Would also be interested in this Martin for the wife's Blue GT.
I was under the impression that CH/LH only worked if you installed the Auto lighting set-up (which I see you have done). Are you saying that even without the Auto lights, CH/LH can be coded in VCDS to work out of the box so to speak ?
Does this mean (when coded) that the CH/LH function gets added to the setup screen in the MFD, and the light duration etc. can be controlled from there or purely via VCDS ?
Finally, rather than the crappy "flash the headlights" to engage coming home, is there a VCDS option to have it come on automatically when either the key is removed or the door opened (I did this to my new Golf GTD as that was flash to activate as well out of the factory).
Any chance of a little more information please bud ?
