How did you only light up the L on the rear lights? Did you block the top squareish part with something! And also how did you install your footwell lights?

You car looks awesome, has made me want anthracite wheels on my white r line instead of black now!

I have taped off the squareish/oval part yes. :)

There are square mounting holes down by the feet in both sides. I then soldered the wires up to the dome light so the footwellight turns on with that light. :)

I got a good deal from greypolo9N3 And I've allways been a sucker for BBS wheels. :D

I testmounted one of the wheels last weekend and fiddled around with the rideheight on the computer... This is what I ended up with:

It's actually quite easy... I removed the taillight and then I had a piece of black vinyl for wrapping cars, stickers and and so forth. I cut that up in about 3x4 cm pieces and I then sat with the a flashlight between my knees and the taillight in my lab.

And the a set of big tweezers I fed the vinyl pieces in though the square hole in the back of the light. blocking where I could see light coming through. :)

I took the flashlight up from time to time and shined it through the back of the taillight so I could check how it looked from the outside. :)

I have been thinking about looking in to how light windowtint I can get and then wrap my tail lights in that.
To get a "Kirschrot" effect.

They do have a smoked paint which gets darker the more you spray on, then you have a glossifier spray to bring it a shine.

I'm sorry to say. But that still looks like crap... Why would you take a gorgeous krystal clear taillight and make it look like a tinted bathroom window?
That's just my oppinion of course. :)

Like you say its opinion based :) i feel a white or black car with tinted rear lights look pretty cool :) i have to admit, has to be the right car - that beetle, not so good.

Joelburbidge - how long before it started peeling?
