Lowering polo 6r

Post by peeetz »

hi im looking at lowering my 2011 polo on springs not coilovers...just wondering what people opinions are on which ones to get.

not wanting it low low just to make it look slightly better, i was looking at some of the H&R springs but not sure...

post pictures of what you are running and let me know what they are on.

In my opinion...the 25/40 from h&R is better....not a big difference + much better ride

I think that 55mm at rear is to much for stock shocks. I have VWR sport springs and they are - 15mm.

Your very right...my old one was 50mm...and omg the ride was absoloutely shocking

You should go for the 25/40 H&R ...best springs setup hands down

I've ordered 17 alloys for my stock Polo. . .i've decided to go for the VW approved lowering springs with 215/40/17 tyres.

£309 including fitting at VW dealers.

haggle down to £20 a corner and thats about a standard rate really

i fitted mine myself :D..

and omg...£309 for springs and fitting :o....and the VW ones are 30mm all round?..

30mm is too much for the front on 17's in my opnion...

Why is it too low? Will my wheels not fit on? :O:O:O

Is the GTi not 30mm with 17inchers?

OMG I'm scared. I've already bought the 17 alloys with 215/40 Tyres! I will actually burst into real tears if the wheels rub the arches!! I'd read about people dropping 50mm so I thought surely 30mm won't be a problem :(

Hahahahahahaha dont worry!!...depends on the offset and width of your wheels though

it shouldnt be a problem...you may hear a slight scrape here and there but nothing to cause any damage

I had 215 45 17's and my wheels are 7j ET41 ....that made a little scrape sound over big wallowy parts of the road and thats about it really
Now ive put 205/45/17's and it looks far better too!

Let me know your wheel width and offset
