Green mouldy stuff in window edges.

Has anyone else experienced this with their 9 month old polo?!

I cleaned this car VERY thoroughly only 6 days ago (wheels off, wheel arches, polished and waxed)

I'm dreading getting this! Seen it happen to a few cars, I think its moisture build up, must a way to clean it?

My Polo is coming up to three years old, it has been cleaned religiously and I have the same problem. I'm still undecided whether I'm going to ask my local dealer to replace the seals under the manufacturers warranty or not as I don't think they should be going mouldy after three years. I would normally just ask for them replacing but once you start messing around with seals you are opening up a world of pain with future wind noise etc...

This is not a warranty issue. Just clean it off.

I think I agree with you Ben but why would it form if I don't go three weeks without cleaning it?

Clean it off with what? I've pressure washed it off a few times, the more you clean it the worse it gets. It is mould after all which grows in areas of consistent damp so cleaning it off is not a solution.

I have got a tiny bit forming on mine, and am getting a squeek from the window

It is the price you pay for living in a country with lots of wet weather and maybe clean air! Unless VAG impregnated all external "rubber" seals with something nasty, this will always happen to cars left outside - I tend to garage my cars so get none of that at all.

This isn't forming on rubber it's forming on felt. And I've only noticed it forming since this time last week when I give it a deep clean.

Ive always thought it was fall out from trees.
I did get it on my wifes Suzuki but by using G101 it cleaned it up and its never come back.

Yes, but that "felt" is really plastic/rubber with a bit of added "feltish" synthetic material on/in it.
