Just bought a 6n it idles up to 2000 revs itself until the clutch is released then goes back to normal also tries to cut out about 3 qwarter throttle but if you floor it it doesny do it Really annoying any help apprecited with pics as im new to the volkswagen :p

Forgot to mention my temp gage does not move at all is this all related to the temp sensor ? Dont want to start stripping it down if its somthing simple may start a project thread if a get these problems sorted

You'll def need a new temp sensor. That won't help things and can cause all kinda of idle starting and cutting out related issues
Be sure to get a genuine vw one as copy ones are poor quality and don't last.

Wouldbthis cause the car to try and cut out when the pedal reaches a certain point then burst into life if a lift off or press more ?

It can do. It's plays a big part in the air fuel ratio and if it's failed it'll cause over or under fuelling

I got a new sensor and changed it over seems to have cured the problem how many sensors should I have as theres the temp and then theres a hole for another sensor thats blanked off but all the other polos ive seen have had 2 So am I missing 1 if so wits it fur
