I have VW Polo 1.6 16v GTi, Year 2000. I want to wire heated seats correctly in my car.
I bought MK4 Golf (Racaro) heated seats (installed successfully - seats have airbag as well) and wiring (which is cut/sold by seller on ebay - some scrap yard seller) harness including plugs for seats (which goes to seat). plus switches for dash and bit of wiring harness.
Wondering, if any one can help me wire these lovely seats correctly.
Specific Wiring Diagram or Detailed instructions will be great.
Cheers
Jag

Youll need this harness, then two genuine 6n2 heated seat switches
Its fairly easy to fit.

I used this loom to put MK3 colour concept seats in my 6N2, but the wiring needed some modification to get it working with the older style loom on the seats.
If you have it all then its just a case of wiring it up. Its only four wires to put in
Masse (brown) is the earth, so just to the chassis
KL.15 is ignition live, so just needs an ignition live feed as it triggers the relays - again back of the headlight switch is good for this
KL. 58b is illumination, which can be tagged onto any grey with blue stripe wire - back of headlight switch is a good place to take it from.
Kl. 30 is permanent live which should be put onto into the fusebox at Fuse No.51- 15A- For Heated Seats

The relays are built into the heated seat switches

Hi Jag
Ill have to check the wiring diagram and see what those pins specifically are for

Hi Alex,
I managed to sort it out. all working fine. but for some reason driver seat is not heating up. I will check over the weekend might be a fuse some where in seat..
Thanks a lot for your help.

Re: How to Wire Heated Seats in GTI 6N2
I was getting the diagrams today
Check you have a 12V live to the seat when the switch is on. There isnt a fuse as far as i remember
There is however a thermistor that needs to be working in order for the seat to heat up
