In the engine cover, there are two hoses connecting to somewhere, one on left and one on the right, i would like to know where do they connect to? as i am thinking to replace original air filter to a cone type air intake, but needs to confirm where are these to hoses connecting to after replacement.
Remarks: Engine is BBY.

On my wife's 2003MY Polo with BBY, there is only one hose, and that one scavenges fumes from the cam cover, so that function needs to be retained in some form. Check if your second one comes from the EGR valve - there is normally only a rough filter and a short length of pipe on that one, though maybe they have improved things and terminated that pipe at the main air filter. Now if that is the case, just go and buy a pipe and filter from an earlier, maybe late 2002 BBY engine car.
