My Polo 6R GTI
Hi Guys, new to this forum but ive used it for information in the past. Im usually a member on Clubpolo website but there isnt much love for the newer stuff on there
To my Car:
its a 2012 Polo GTI 1.4TSI
bought it in July 2014 with 22,000 miles on the clock
List of Current Mods:
Revo Stage 1 Remap
BC Racing Coilovers
Forge Motorsport Induction Kit
Forge Motorsport Blow Off Adapter
Custom Cat-Back Exhaust (Powerflow)
Home Made rear Strut Brace
Front Splitter
Currently running either Monza Wheels, Mercedes Segins and Porsche Twists
Recently went to the Nurburgring and loved it! went round in around the 9:30 mark
Plans:
thinking of either a WRC front bumper or an R20 one
Rieger Tuning Rear diffuser
Cobreau Bucket seats (re-trim in GTI plaid)
Sports Cat and Back Box Delete
Stage 2???
Any advice or Comments welcome!
Cheers
Joshers

"Any advice or Comments welcome!"
Don't tune it any more, it will blow up!!
Seriously though, have you seen the oil consumption poll, be interested to know how much you're using as a new GTI owner?
Nice car btw, and welcome

Re: My Polo 6R GTI
It's really not that bad, was worse before the remap I must say.
Only problem I suffer from is misfire when cold and you just happen to pull out of a junction too quick or something.
Other than that the only thing it does is drink petrol haha

Re: My Polo 6R GTI
Update Time!
Hopefully will have sold the Mercedes wheels this week so I've taken the porsche wheels for a refurb and color change before Cumbria VAG
Got myself a set of 312mm Brakes off a Mk1 TT. My brakes were pretty shot after Nurburgring so I thought now was the best time to upgrade
Bosche Discs and Mintex Pads. Will hopefully upgrade the rear brakes soon also
Disc Comparison:
Fitted:
They don't look much bigger but the difference is unreal!
Next up, had my friends at Power Project build me a new Custom exhaust. I wanted to replace the one I'd had made previously with a larger bore and thought why not just make it straight through from the CAT
They've made a brilliant job and made it so i can swap the back box and straight through tips easily
I'll get a Video of how it sounds when i get it all fitted.
Feedback welcome, hope to see some folks at Cumbria VAG!

Re: My Polo 6R GTI
Were the brake discs a straight fit using the stock calipers? Did you need to change the brake pad carriers on the caliper?
looking forward to hear the exhaust

Re: My Polo 6R GTI
No you need the full calliper and carrier off the TT. The standard brakes are 288mm but unfortunately the callipers and different on the newer platforms. I was hoping just to swap the carriers but you can't do that.saty wrote:Were the brake discs a straight fit using the stock calipers? Did you need to change the brake pad carriers on the caliper?

Brakes all in cost me £200 which is cheap in my opinion
Re: My Polo 6R GTI
Were your old calipers FSIII? Just done a quick google and it looks like they've got integrated carriers? Thats a shame thought it would be a straight swap, although 200 pounds isnt too badJosherswilson wrote:No you need the full calliper and carrier off the TT.
