CBZC or CJZC?

Post by zim »

Hello!
New member here :) I hope you don't kick foreigners out because this is the best and most active Polo-forum I've found

I ordered a Polo 6C 1.2 TSI 90 PS about a month ago and it will be my first VW car. Very excited! But since it's my first VW I'm not all that familiar with their engines. So I've been reading about the 1.2 TSI 90 PS engine and I feel somewhat confused now... Will I get the newer CJZC (EA211) or the previous CBZC? I asked my VW/Audi dealer and he said (and I quote): "I don't know, and there's now way to answer that until the car has been manufactured and delivered to us". Huh? Surely they must know what engines are used in the cars they sell

I used Google Translate to read some german forums and found one discussion where the same question had been asked. The conclusion there was that the CJZC engine won't be used in the Polo until the next generation. In what ever comes after the 6C.

So... can anyone here enlighten me? Thank you :)

P.S.
If I'm not completely mistaken then the main difference between CBZC and CJZC is timing chain vs timing belt.

CJZC

One of the differences between these engines is that the new models have timing belt instead of chain.

Hello ciclo and thank you!

The most in-depth information I could get from my dealer was a brochure, so those links are golden :D

Now I just have to wait for the car to be built...
