Polo 9N (2003)

Post by AsadP »

Hey all!

I'm new to the VW Polo Forum and I'm glad to be a part of it.

I have a VW Polo 9N (2003 plate) and I want to install footwell lights.
It comes with all that's shown in the picture, a control box, four footwell light bars, a wire that has a positive and earth wire and a cigarette port output wire as well.

I want to try and connect it via a 12V source, I've tried connecting it to the fuse for my dipped beams and fog lights but it does not seem to work.

Any suggestions that are as simple as connecting it to the fuse box or battery? I just want something straight forward really, this is the first time I'm connecting something like this.

Thanks all! :?:

Hello I've previously installed footwell lights and I've found that of you get x2 30cm LED Light strips and a few meters of 12v red and black wire

connect the red and black wires to the positive and negative of your LED strips (either solder & electrical tape or a scotch connector)
run the wires underneath the roof carpet and connect (jam them in securely) the positive and negative on your cars dome light.>>>> This enables the lights to come on when you open the door or switch the dome light on (easiest less stressful way)
