Hi , my polo seems to have devolved a fault , the wipers do not switch off completely dispite the stalk stalk being in the off position . When in off position wipers are still on intermittent mode and only go off when ignition is off . I’ve found the fuse and bodged it by putting in a switch , but obviously this is a temporary fix ,can any one else give me any advice on a fix for this , ie is it stalk or relay . Thanks

Do the wipers run in intermittent mode when in the intermittent position?

blown fuse could point at a fault in the electrical circuit, short circuit. maybe the stalk? difficult to say.

i don't think the relay, since a stuck relay would not show intermittent but full speed wipers.
i'd have a look at the wiring to/from the stalk and the stalk itself.

That’s a fault with the stalk which needs replacing.

Yes all modes on stalk work except off

You indicate that your car is a 2015 Polo, is that true, if so it should still be under warranty?

As rum says, this will be covered under warranty if your car is under 3 years old.

Didn’t even think about warranty! I’ve phoned them they are gonna have it in to sort it, I hope ! Excellent thanks I’ll let you know how it goes

I had the same problem with mine, took it to the dealers and they changed the indicator and wiper stalks under warranty. Been fine ever since.

I took the car to Volkswagen Bath for inspection under warranty. After inspection they concluded that the wipers were on intermittent mode and they switched them off ! .
I said don’t you think we would have tried that . Picked the car up wipers still on !!!! It’s back in today , hopefully for them to fix and replace stalk , dumbasses !
