If I have heater set to 0 the revs are around600

If I have heater set to 1 the revs are around 900

Is this normal?

When they are 600rpm and I lift clutch the rpm does raise by itself.

sound like pretty normal behaviour to me.

Higher the load on the engine, the higher the idle revs as it compensates for increased load.

Tried today on my 1.6 TDI - revs stay the same. No change at all.
Maybe TDIs work differently than TSI.

Have you tried it when it’s at full temp?

The basic architecture of the compression ignition engine makes it reluctant to increase or decrease its revolution speed so you would be far less likely to notice any fluctuation.

Interestingly if you have ultra sensitive instrumentation connected to your Diesel engine you would be able to detect a measurable increase in fuel consumption when an additional load, even a very small one is applied, you would also notice that the state of battery charge has an effect. We are talking about very small measurements but they nicely demonstrate the practical application of Newton’s Laws.

It does it all the time on my Tsi

soon as I put heater on 1 the revs always settle at around 900. set to 0 and the revs settle at 600

so we saying this is normal behaviour of a tsi

600 is quite a low idle. If it’s under warranty I’d take it in to get it checked over

Is it not part of the bluemotion technology?

it doesn't struggle, just odd that it differs so much,

Ive seen cars when you put air con on and the revs raise a bit but this is just the normal heater.

can anyone else with a 1.2 TSI 6c confirm if its normal?

the starting revs are about the same 600-650

Oh yes, of course it has BMT.

Maybe someone else with a 1.2 TSI can confirm the rev behaviour
