Retailer accessories - stonechip protection & parking se

Post by pukka »

Hello,

What is the stonechip protection pack (zgb 9n0 071 327)?

Also how does the parking sensor (000 054 630 g) work? is it similar to those on other cars.... black dots/sensors along the front/rear bumper and wired up to the headunit... more beeps as you get closer?

Thanks.

i've got the parking sensor, which looks like this:

they come ready to be painted, and they beep with shorter intervals as you get closer to an object.

logistix, thanks.

Does the beep come from the car door speakers or it's own speaker? and how do you turn in on and off? Cheers.

when you engage in reverse the sensors are activated, and it has its own speaker (located near the boot for my car). it works really good, i've learned parking with this kit so i can't really compare but it should be making things a lot easier :) at least i don't have to look back when in reverse

You mean this parking sensor was standard in your Polo or as an accesory?
I've never seen it in spain  I'll have to ask my dealer!

no it's not standard, i bought it as an accessory. i haven't seen the package of the kit but i think it comes with a tool to puncture the bumper for the sensors to be attached to. if you can't find a genuine VW parking distance control (PDC) kit there are plenty of third party manifacturers who supply kits like these.
